SOUND DESIGN AND MUSIC MAKING FOR AN AI POWERED INTERACTIVE GAME INSTALLATION

“How (not) to get hit by a self-driving car (HNTGHBASDC) is a street-based game that challenges anyone to avoid being detected by an AI-powered camera. In the game, players see themselves augmented on a large screen at the end of a playing field. Marking each player is a percentage signifying the level at which the AI sees them as a pedestrian. If this exceeds a certain limit, the player will lose, and so to win, players must figure out how to cleverly dodge the AI and reach the goal without detection.”

Similarly our previous collaboration, Deviation Game ︎︎︎, Plot Generica joined the team to create the sound design for the various parts of their experience. This included an original song for the non-gaming moment, one for the actual matches, and all the UI sounds (i.g. a warning sound to let playrs know that the AI is recognising them as humans, the winning jingle, the losing one, and more).

The installation fist appeared in Bristol during  Playable City 2023 ︎︎︎.
